Get to know our ACES team: Q&A with Susan Knowles, NHS Partnership Executive for ACES Nottingham

We caught up with Susan Knowles, NHS Partnership Executive for our ACES clinic in Nottingham. With a background in retail store operations, Susan joined us almost two years ago and has been a key player in ensuring smooth clinic openings and successful CPD events.

  • Why did you choose a career at ACES?

I had worked for Optical Express before transferring over to ACES when it was launching outside of East Anglia. I wanted a new challenge and being part of ACES at such an early stage of its growth appealed to me.

  • Why do you think ACES is a good place to work?

I enjoy new challenges and I have been able to work on developing new areas on my own, all the while knowing I have the support of a great team.

  • What do you enjoy most about your role?

I’m proud that the work I do ensures that NHS patients who need cataract surgery are receiving it in a shorter wait time than if they had to wait for an appointment in their local hospital. It’s gratifying to know that we are giving them their sight back and improving their quality of life.

  • What sets ACES apart from their competitors?

At ACES, we care that each patient is seen as an individual and given first-class service every time.
