Dr Mahboub Hawkes

Dr Mahboub Hawkes is a highly skilled Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 30 years’ experience and extensive knowledge on cataract and IOL surgery. She has completed a vast range of advanced clinical eye care training at world renowned organisations across the globe.

After completing fellowships in oculoplastics, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy macular disorders at the esteemed Moorfield Eye Hospital in London, Dr Hawkes then went on to become a Consultant Ophthalmologist treating patients across South East England. As well as having performed thousands of advanced clinical eye care procedures over the span of her career, Dr Hawkes has also been committed to the training of junior residents and students with a special interest in glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. She also played a key role in the Waiting List Initiative Programme, where she completed a high number of extra treatments during her spare time, lunch hour and before and after clinics to help effectively reduce NHS waiting lists.

Over the span of her career, Dr Hawkes has acquired an extremely high skill set and has worked with multiple experts within the field in order to advance her knowledge. She has undertaken a vast amount of research with a key focus on clinical trials and drug experimentation and has produced a number of peer reviewed scientific publications.
