Mr Syam

Mr Syam is a highly-skilled Consultant Ophthalmologist with extensive experience in cataract surgery, glaucoma care, laser procedures used post-cataract (YAG) and in glaucoma care (SLT and YAG), cornea and external eye diseases and medical retina. He has also performed many oculoplastic procedures.

Since 2018, Mr Syam has been working as a substantive full-time Consultant Ophthalmologist at ACES. He also works as a locum consultant at Peterborough City Hospital on an ad-hoc basis. He started his training in ophthalmology in India in 1992. After completing his training in India, he carried out further ophthalmic training in the UK as a Senior House Officer (SHO) and as a Specialist Registrar in different hospitals.

Mr Syam also completed two years’ fellowship in cornea and anterior segment surgery at Sussex Eye Hospital from 2000 to 2002. He worked as a senior Ophthalmologist at Peterborough City Hospital for 14 years before joining ACES as a Consultant Ophthalmologist.

He has published numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented papers at national and international conferences.  He also worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital in the Neuro-ophthalomology and Oculoplastic units from 2015 to 2016.
