About

Mr Mughal is a highly accomplished surgeon with a career spanning more than 20 years. Specialising in refractive laser surgery, he has performed in excess of 25,000 LASIK and LASEK procedures as an Independent Practitioner.

After obtaining his degree in Medicine from the University of Dundee in 1992, Mr Mughal went on to receive multiple postgraduate qualifications. Gaining his Diploma and membership in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, he also completed an MSc degree in Investigative Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Manchester in 2000 and was awarded a certificate in corneal and refractive surgery from the University of Ulster in 2006.

Over the course of his career, Mr Mughal has gained a wealth of experience working for the NHS, holding various positions in hospitals across the UK – including Halifax Royal Infirmary, Bradford Royal Infirmary and the University Hospital Wales. He has also been involved in the regular teaching and training of NHS consultant ophthalmologists and has supervised numerous Surgeons new to LASIK and LASEK eye surgeries.

Mr Mughal has co-authored a number of publications on ophthalmology and has presented his work at both national and international conferences, including the World Congress for Ophthalmic Anaesthesia and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Annual Congress. He also attends regular courses and clinical seminars to stay on top of the latest developments in refractive surgery.
